This invitation only event will be the North American media launch of the Rockers? clothing line. The flavor of the evening will be a celebration of the spirit, energy, and style of the 1979 Jamaican cult classic movie Rockers.

Rockers Background:
Rockers, is a reggae musical, comedy, and adventure set in Jamaica and starring some of singers and musicians of Reggae’s Golden Age. Rockers was made after the stunning success of the independently made 1972 hit The Harder They Come, which introduced North Americans to reggae music and the Rastafarian lives of many Jamaicans. The film was produced by Patrick Hulsey and the Screenwriter and Director was Theodorus Bafaloukos.
Rockers made its’ premiere at the 1978 San Francisco Film Festival and was invited to the 1979 Los Angeles Film Exposition and the 1979 Cannes Film Festival. In 1980, Rockers was released and distributed by New Yorker Films in the U.S. The Rockers Soundtrack was released on Chris Blackwell’s Island Records. Shortly after the films debut, Rockers was soon universally acclaimed for featuring a plethora of undeniably some of the greatest reggae artists of all time.
The film stars Jacob Miller, Gregory Isaacs, Richard ?Dirty Harry? Hall, Leroy ?Horsemouth? Wallace, Burning Spear, Robbie Shakespeare, Big Youth, Majorie Norman and Monica Craig amongst others.
The Rockers Soundtrack features songs by artists Inner Circle , Burning Spear, Third World , Gregory Isaacs, Bunny Wailer, The Heptones, Peter Tosh, Justin Hines &The Dominos, Junior Byles, The Upsetters, Kiddus I, Junior Marvin, Jacob Miller and Maytones.
