Lady Shelly, The New Face Of Dancehall

With Sean Paul, Vybz Kartel and other dancehall artist climbing up the billboard charts, millions all over the world are paying attention to this seemingly new genre. Many young people across the globe are falling in love with the dancehall sounds for the first time and are surveying the many artists involved, to choose their respective favorite. One of the things that is evident about this captivating form of music is the lack of female presence. Over the years there have been only a handful of women in dancehall who have managed to take their music outside the West Indian community and attract a broader audience. Lady Shelly, who is also known as the karamanti, is hoping to do just that!
After releasing “karamanti mix -volume 1 “resurrection”, on August 1st 2009, Lady Shelly has garnered a lot of attention and is now poised to take her career to the next level. She will be doing an up-close and personal session on October 2nd at the Upfront Theatre, located in the Keele Plaza at the corner of Keele and Finch in Toronto. The event gives supporters and media personalities an opportunity to listen to tracks from “karamanti mix -volume 1 “resurrection” (performed live). As well, it will allow Lady Shelly to give insights to her musical creation and direction. This performance will be broadcast live on flexradio.net
At the end of October, Lady Shelly will take her show to the infamous house of reggae in Montreal Quebec, and is currently putting the final touches on her U.S. tour which kicks off in Colorado state in December. Music lovers are encouraged to pay attention to this artist.
