Singer/model/actress Marcellas is back in the music arena with a wicked combination done with OCS Electrical worker Raco Spice and listening to the song it is perfect for the season. It will sit well in the World Cup Cricket Excitement and of course, come Carnival across the Caribbean it will blend in just as well.
According to Marcellas her inspiration to do the song came through her love and passion for cricket and with the whole vibes surrounding the up upcoming World Cup event she knew it was timely.
Marcellas’ love affair with cricket began in 1995 when she was involved in the launching of mound Mania on the promotional side as a Miguel Model. That cricket fever has never left her. Her combination partner Raco Spice is himself a cricketer representing his company in business house competition.
When Marcellas penned the words for ‘Cricket In Di West Indies‘ she kinda had Elephant Man in mind to do the song. She never even contemplated singing it herself. Then one day she walked into OCS electrical by chance where she met Gregory (Raco) and the two struck up a musical vibes and before she knew it they were recording the song under the production of Paul Barclay and Courick Clarke for the Kat Jam Records label.
The song made its playing debut last Friday on FAME and Marcellas says since then she has been getting a lot of encouraging phone calls on the song.
Currently they are now in the process of doing the music video and Marcellas already has a special dance for the song.
She is particularly excited about the international response to the song. According to her she has been getting feedback from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and other places since she sent out a release on the project. From all indications ‘Cricket In Di West Indies‘ a guh sell off!
