Easy Star Records Update

JOHN BROWN’S BODY/THE BLACK SEEDS US TOUR KICKS OFF
The first half of Easy Star’s musical foreign exchange program kicks off this week, as New Zealand’s The Black Seeds join John Brown’s Body for a three week US tour. Things get started September 10 at Higher Ground in Burlington, followed the next night by a can’t miss show at Bowery Ballroom in NYC. From there, the bands head west, through Colorado to California. These shows should be incredible, so don’t miss it. The exchange will continue in November when JBB travels to New Zealand to support The Black Seeds on their home turf. See the full list of tour dates below.

PRE-ORDER SOLID GROUND BY THE BLACK SEEDS
Speaking of The Black Seeds, don’t forget that their fantastic album Solid Ground comes out this month and you can pre-order it through the Easy Star web store. The Huffington Post recently mentioned the record: “If any band ever carried the spirit of Morphine in their blood, it has to be New Zealand outfit The Black Seeds. Musically the connection is subtle; vocally, Barnaby Weir exhibits the easeful, country-tinged, downtrodden-but-hopeful tendencies of Mark Sandman. Had that man not passed on a decade prior, you’d think he just reappeared somewhere just south of the Shire. Sure, comparisons are awful when dealing with a group as talented as the Black Seeds.
