Utan Green

A humble, unassuming but destined youth, UTAN GREEN's music is a mission to bring good over evil. He is determined to speak for the under priviledged and for truth and rights. UTAN's first hit came in 1993/94 with "CAN'T TEK" on the <a href="http://www.bigupradio.com/labelDetail.jsp?lid=252">Shocking Vibes</a> label. His career began on October 30, 1965. He later joined his brother and sister to form the group Invaders in 1975. The Invaders recorded "Ghetto Children" and "Cry of a Poor Man" for <a href="http://www.bigupradio.com/artistDetail.jsp?aid=67">Don Carlos</a>. Those songs, even today, have not yet been released. </p>
<p>Singing as as a soloist on the sound Destiny International from Manchester, JA, just like others he met in the business. He met Garnett Silk, Tony Rebel, <a href="http://www.bigupradio.com/artistDetail.jsp?aid=479">Kulcha Knox</a> and <a href="http://www.bigupradio.com/artistDetail.jsp?aid=36">Everton Blender</a>. An area producer,Delroy Collins, noticed the ability and talent of GREEN. Utan recorded his first single "I'll Be There" in 1985. Shortly thereafter he moved to Kingston, JA to make more progress in his career. There he helped build the famous Flames Crew as a founding member. The recordings elevated. Songs like "Don't Shoot", "There's A Victory", "Poor Can't Tek" "Your Majesty", "Man of Love", "My Desire" and "Mash Down Babylon." UTAN GREEN only deals with roots and culture. </p>
<p>Working with <a href="http://www.bigupradio.com/labelDetail.jsp?lid=1138">KULCHA SHOK MUZIK</a>, UTAN GREEN has several recordings coming out on the label. He has toured Germany, Italy, Sweden and other parts of Europe as well as Ethiopia, the Caribbean and the U.S. His debut album "Rivers of Reality" contains several KULCHA SHOK MUZIK productions. His newest single "Ive Been A Stranger" is also now available.
