The Lion and the Emperor

I'm an independent record label called Wa Gwan Records. I started this project in November of 2005 to combine the hip hop influenced reggae I know and love with the voices and roots of Jamaican Reggae. When I herd a singer named Raje Turner, know in Jamaica simply as "Cologne", I had an idea, a way to reach everyone, and make a difference in this messed up world. He had everything I was looking for. Effortlessly he brought this idea to life with his smooth voice, and inspirational lyrics. The vibe I get from him tells me that this was supposed to happen. I feel like he just might be what the world needs. So I experimented with many different styles, and now feel like we've found it. So here we come world, with a musical revolution of music with meaning. I ask all musicians to unite for a cause, let's change the world for the better. Let stand up and create a voice that has been silenced by fear and greed for too long now. The style of music doesn't matter, music is for enjoyment, not seperating and classifying people like society does. This isn't just for you reggae people, we need the Rappers, the Rockers, the Metal Heads, the Pop Singers, and the Jazz musicians. Thats the only way to make a difference, appeal to all Audiences, all "Demographics" (as they refer to us (people) in the business world). All I ask is, the next time you write a song, think about something that needs to be said, and put it on myspace, or any way you can get lots of people to hear it. If each one of us does that, think how many important songs have been created all at the same time, and made available for the world to hear. Like a musical bomb going off.
