Tami Chin

Born into a musical family, Tami Chin's entry into the music world was inevitable. Her sister Tessan Chin caused some sparks to fly as lead singer of Mile High. Her mother Christine was in a group called Carnation and her father Richard is a musician who plays drums and the guitar. <br>

The 20 year-old Chin made her recording debut just two years ago, when she met up with some producers in Miami.<br>

Commenting on her style, Chin says she brings her own flavour to the table. "I am trying to bring my own flavour to dancehall. Whether it be my style or flair, but I know it's a little different." </p>
Working with top notch names such as <a href="http://www.bigupradio.com/labelDetail.jsp?lid=225">Don Corleon</a> and Tony Kelly is a dream for any aspiring artiste, and Tami has managed to get that opportunity.<em> "It was brilliant working with them. It was pretty easy. They both bring a lot of good ideas to the table." </em><br>

A former background dancer for international recording artiste <a href="http://www.bigupradio.com/artistDetail.jsp?aid=1946">Shaggy</a>, Tami has been confirmed to perform on International Night at this year's staging of Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest. </p>

<em>"I am just hoping to show my abilities and go there and rock the show. I know I will be enjoying myself on stage and I hope it transcends into the audience,"</em> she said. <br>

Tami lists her mother, as well as recording artistes Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, Karen Carpenter, Janet, Madonna and Luciano Pavarotti among her musical influences. </p>
