San Francisco Bay Area artist SANTERO has performed extensively throughout the United States and Latin America. Emcee/Composer and DJ/Producer, his musical roots are derived from his musical background growing up in an environment rich in culture and appreciation for music but lacking amenities like clubs and music halls. The desire to create music inspired him to experiment and venture abroad to explore the world of music in all it colors and flavors. He set out as an Emcee and before long became interested in production and the technical side of creation. After he got into production it was only a matter of time before his fingers touched the turntables. Throughout the years through a very organic and natural progression he began to flex and focus his talents and direct his creative path. There is no division between SANTERO and his music. In addition to my work as a DJ and re-mixer and after many years of development he garnered major recognition for his work as a Producer and recording Artist. After seven years of cultivation he recorded his debut CD "Arawaks & Maroons" with multi-Grammy and Latin Grammy nominated Producer Greg Landau in 2005. It incorporated classic African & Latin styles with modern technology a fusion, of which, creates an innovative blend of unconventional & contemporary musical sensibilities. "Arawaks & Maroons" was awarded Best New Artist Release in 2005 by Batanga magazine. SANTERO is currently finishing a new album entitled "El Hijo de Obatala" scheduled for release in 2008.

DJ Santero is also a world class DJ known for his international mixes and dance parties. His weekly BTR Latin Hip Hop radio show on Breakthruradio.com exemplifies just how deep his musical roots reach. His weekly Noches de Vudu sessions have attracted the best Latin DJs from the US, Mexico, Puerto Rico & Brazil. DJ Santero has been repeatedly recognized as one of the best Salsa, Samba & Reggaeton DJs in the San Francisco Bay Area by local and national press.

DJ Santero also hosts a global monthly DJ session that highlights the latest Latin, Caribbean, African & Asian music hitting the charts. He has hosted DJs from Senegal, India, Jamaica & Europe for some of the best international parties on the West Coast. His remixes of Hip Hop, R&B and Reggae/Dancehall hits have made DJ Santero a household name worldwide.
