Prestige

Talent, class, creativity are all words that could be used to describe this artiste who is all set on climbing musical heights to write his name among the best when it comes to good quality music. His name is Prestigeâ?¦and he is living up to it in every way with the kind of songs he attaches his name to. Born and grown up in Clarks Town, Trelawny Laureston Bruce aka Prestige developed an early love of music â??age eight to be precise. He never missed an opportunity to show his talent and by the time he finished Cedric Titus High School his path was clearly set before him â?? a career in the music business. It was no easy goings, but blessed with talent and a determination to make his mark in the very difficult arena to break into Prestige decided to 'press out' with everything in him. With limited opportunities in Trelawny to break into the music business Prestige relocated to live in Portmore. This move proved a wise one as he soon got signed to Black Scorpio and did some recordings. However, those did not impact the way he hopedâ?¦but not one to give up he kept working at his craft. It has been a long, difficult road breaking into mainstream, but according to Prestige his love of music is his main motivating force. Prestige who describes himself as a singjay says his ultimate goal is to be a great icon on the music business like the late Bob Marley who incidentally is one of the singers he admires. Other artistes on his list are Beres Hammond, the late Dennis Brown and Joseph 'Culture' Hill and country & western crooner, Kenny Roger. Since his emergence on the scene Prestige has shared the stage with artiste such as Anthony B, Luciano,LittleDevon, and the late Dennis Brown. He has performed on some of the biggest shows including Sting 2004-5, Sunsplash 2006, Trelawny Jamboree. His performances gig has taken him to countries such as USA, Antigua, Barbuda, St. Maarteen, St Kitts & Nevis and Trinidad & Tobago. Right now Prestige coul d not be happier with the direction his career is taking. In late 2006 he joined Timeless Records headed by Daddy Fras. The artiste is no stranger to Daddy Fras and the Timeless family. They've known each other since 1995 where he worked on the Rocky Road riddim together, after that project they decided that they were going to take it to another level and so now he is a part of the family. "We just completed another single and are now in the process of doing an album," Prestige shared. Prestige currently has a 12 track album which is jampacked with hits including 'My Pride', 'We Nuh Trust Dem', 'Miss you Mama', 'She's Mine Tonight' and 'Tender Loving' and you can expect another album, more performances, and his uncompromising positive lyrics during 2008.
