Junia Walker

Born near Jubilee Hospital in Kingston, Walker began his life in an area of town which was to become the musical hotbed of the sixties, much like the reputation Waterhouse has today. The area, around King St., Beeston St. and Chancery Lane brought forth such reggae luminaries as Derrick Morgan, Prince Buster, Derrick Harriot, Dr. Alimantado, and Gregory Isaacs among others.
In 1980, Walker started his own label called Jusic International. His first solo production was a 12" called "I Just Wanna Rock" with Jah Stitch and Woody Noble. Jah Stitch was an old friend from the Princess St. area. Since the death of Keith Hudson in late '84, Junior's labe has been called Jusic Joint. The label released DE ATTACK in 1985, an LP of various artists which is still in its first pressing. Walker was also the first to record Monopolist, who did the first track on DE ATTACK called "Human Machine."
