Future Troubles was born in the parish of St. Ann, Jamaica. As a youth he was inspired by his uncle who was a member of the group "Born Jamaicans".

He began his career by singing on sound systems like Bass Odyssey, Eloquence, Mellow, Turbophonic and other smaller sets in his native parish.

His first recording was for Barry O'Hare's X-Rated label, but his first big hit was for Courtney Cole's Roof International label called "Kung Fu". This reached number one in the Jamaican charts and introduced Future Troubles' humorous martial arts style, which was well-received by dancehall fans worldwide.

A hardcore combination with Bounty Killer called "Kill a Sound" (Priceless) was a massive dancehall hit over the Stalag rhythm, but also lead to a controversy. Bounty sampled over a portion of the Winston Riley original for his version of the rhythm, and this led to Winston Riley pressing the tune on his own Techniques label.

Other hits have followed like "Can't Smoke The Weed In Peace" (a combination with Tony Curtis on the Shocking Vibes label); Chin Chin (Shocking Vibes); Knocking At Your Door (Greensleeves/Maximum Sound), Bad Motherf***er (Greensleeves/Maximum Sound); Hotter Dan Dem (Digital-B); and Man A Thug (El Paso with Merciless).

Third Eye Studio recording artist Fowlie Don has recorded a killer combination with Future Troubles. Look out for this in the future.
