Teacha Dee went to Sam Sharpe Teachers College where he pursued a course in Secondary Education focusing in Integrated Science: Mathematics and Information Communication Technology. In June of 2004 he was drafted in the semi finals of the inaugural staging on the now popular Rising Stars Talent Search: he appeared on Entertainment Report: Hype Zone: RE TV and was featured in the Western Mirror:The Gleaner and The Jamaican Observer: which highlighted the fact that he was a teacher with a vast talent and appreciation for entertainment. Teachas music can be seen as a cross between both culture and dancehall through his motivational lyrics.
