Chronicle

Chronicle was born in St. Ann's, Jamaica and grew up in Spanish Town. He began singing in church and from there onto sound systems like Small Axe, Sir G's, Creation and Black Kat.

He voiced his first tune "Love Me For Me" for legendary producer Niney The Observer in 1990, and followed that with tunes like "Woman a Samaritan" for Sinbad, "No Kin Teeth" for Steely & Clevie, and others for Gussie P and Roadblock.

In 1998, Chronicle moved to New York where he started recording for Bobby Konders' Massive B label, and started getting his biggest dancehall hits. Tunes like "My God", "Jah Rise", "Give a Little Love", Chronic Man", "Highest Grade" (with Norris Man) and "Rude Boy Ease" (with Ninjaman) have all been dancehall staples over the past three years. In 2001, he also began recording for Clement "Coxsone" Dodds mighty Studio One label - his first 45 being "Sexy Girl" sung over Horace Andy's "Fever" rhythm.

Chronicle possesses a very similar singing voice to Barrington Levy and at times it is difficult to tell them apart. He is in high demand to voice dubplate specials and has recorded for all the major world sound systems. Chronicle has performed in the USA, Switzerland, UK, France and in 2001 he toured Kenya with Killamanjaro alongside Gregory Isaacs and Ninja Ford.

September 2001 saw Chronicle visit the Third Eye Studio to voice some specials, and while there he voiced a crucial new song entitled "Show Some Love", produced by Rootsman. This has now been released on a 10" on Third Eye Music, with its' matching version from Winston McAnuff.
