Candis Francis

b. May 5, 1983, Toronto, Ontario Canada, Candis Francis is one of the most artistic female R&B vocalists to emerge onto the music arena. Born to a Jamaican father and an Algonquian Mother allowed her to explore the many facets of songwriting. It’s no enigma why this beautiful, gifted songstress is soon to establish herself as a multitalented megastar.

Her career in entertainment began by the tender age of 12. Candis started mastering the knack of songwriting. She not only shared a profound love for music, she also began training as an actress and model. Just barely entering her prime as a teenager, Candis was already making a memorable imprint. Recognized as a well-rounded entertainer, she was performing in local talent shows and fashion shows. Eagerly waiting to reveal her proficiency, in September of 1999, she moved to Los Angeles to embark on a more productive career.

Within months of developing her website, CandisFrancis.com, she began to receive recognition from the music industry. She started polishing her vocals skills, working attentively in and out the studio. Candis collaborated with the fame Hip-Hop group Cypress Hill on a song entitled ”Latin Thug,” receiving accolades from Los Angeles’ Power 106. The most sought after producer/songwriter, Kanye West gave noticed to the beauty of this budding star, mentioning her in his single entitled “Get em High.” Candis has also appeared in Eve’s 2002 video release “Gangsta Love,” featuring Alicia Keys. She’s also worked with Dave Hall, Brian McKnight’s brother, London Thompson who has worked with the pop sensation B2K, L. Young, who collaborated with Carl Thomas and CeCe Winans, Storm (EMI Publishing) who co-wrote songs on Ushers' latest LP “Confessions”, also wrote for Mya, Faith etc.

She recently completed her long-awaited self titled debut album, laced with up-beat nuances also fused with sensual sultry ballads. Two of her club tracks are featured on DJ XL’s Mix CD in Canada and . Her newly released red hot hit single “Shake Dem’ Off” is stirring up ruckus national.
