2008 will see the official release of ABIJAH's long-awaited second album: "Moving 2 the Top" (which features the pre-release title track "Swept Away"), many more singles & all-original gems, including a remix of "Revelation" (featuring Beenie Man). His pre-launch in Kingston, this fall, included a live set on Jamaican TV from the National Arena. A media campaign is in the making that should bring ABIJAH's talent to the forefront of international music lovers' consciousness.

Rewind 5 years: jumpstarting his career after the turn of the new millennium, ABIJAH's song "Revelation" debuted at No. 6 - and hit #1 - remaining on the charts for 30 weeks. The song, like the rest of ABIJAH's conscious lyric repertoire, includes memorable quotes: "money is not the problem, it's the greed and selfishness; color is not the problem, it's the hearts and minds of men."

On tour with Elephant Man, the audience went wild for ABIJAH, even though they were primarily a dancehall crowd. He appeals to "both sides of the Reggae aisle." Bridging gaps is nothing foreign to ABIJAH, who's been dubbed "The Ambassador of Peace" by his own Jamaican people. As part of the "Healing the Nation" program in Jamaica, he visited and performed at over 50 schools, teaching the next generation about One Love: the too often forgotten - but essential core - of what Reggae ought to be.

Perhaps a logical extension of his spiritual, public works, ABIJAH's taken name means "my father is Jahovah." ABIJAH actually grew up amongst some veritable greats, including his own father, who was a founding member of the Niabinghi group Mystic Revelation of Rastafari. Related as well to the King of Reggae, these are quite the mantles to live up to. Many have observed the similarity between ABIJAH's voice and that of Bob Marley, which is particularly clear on his revoicing of "Sun is Shining," which charted in Europe.

Known and respected internationally, ABIJAH's spoken at Harvard University in the United States and Oxford University in England. ABIJAH's been embraced by various native tribes, having performed at Hopiland in Arizona, and in New York state (at the Onondaga Lake Peace Festival, from which he also presented at a nearby correctional facility).

In addition to many US club & venue dates, ABIJAH's festival appearances have included San Francisco's Reggae in the Park, the Monterey Bay Reggae Festival, and the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival.

Touring Europe in support of his first, VP Records release, ABIJAH appeared at festivals in seven countries, including Summer Jam (Germany), Rototom (Italy), Jamaica Sunrise (France), and Uzona (Spain). In Japan, ABIJAH's been featured on one of the well-known DJ Krush's CD's, which went Platinum. Back in North America, ABIJAH's graced the Montreal International Reggae Festival & western Canada's biggest Reggae event: the Calgary Reggae Festival. In Jamaica, ABIJAH's no less popular, having performed the renowned Reggae Sumfest, as well as Rebel Salute, and the East Fest.

ABIJAH blends well with different talent, he's a team player. He's worked well with a variety of backing bands, including the Stateside Dub Station, with whom he's toured New England (and down to NYC), the Midwest, the Northwest, California, Hawaii & Colorado. As mentioned above, superstar Beenie Man mixes it up with ABIJAH the forthcoming CD. More studio collaborations have included "Overcome" with R&B star Tevin Campbell and several albums-worth of material recorded with Xterminator producer 'Fatis' Burrell. JetStar is poised to release one such album, entitled "Never Lose Faith."

For now, we prepare the world for "Moving 2 the Top" - carrying ABIJAH's own Azion label â?? in which he asserts "they can do it, we can too; let's get together cause it's alright world!"
