Electric Cloud

Begun in the early summer of 2004: Electric Cloud is a revolutionary force of raw musicanship breeded with an undying and consistent message of love: mental liberation: social consciousness: and political change. The sound is an unforgiving blend of blazing roots-reggae funk: with aspects of rough-edged rock: and soulful blues mixed in. Stressing the importance of the groove: each song is a toe-tapping and demanding rhythm: freely making air for the consciousness to harmoniously be spread and the solos to fly. Specifically: things are held down on the low-tone side of things by bassist Jason Davenport. The progress of the band reflects his consistent progression from thumping man to groove-lock machine. On top: the edge and fullness comes from guitarist Jon Blanton: while rimshot hits and full-scale intensity come from drummer Nick Urban. Lyrically: Electric Cloud is driven by the Rastafarian consciousness of Jon Blanton: who also holds down the vocal throne.
