Skafield from south west germany – that’s quality Skapunk. The band started up in 1997 when a few kids came together to play music they grew up with... bands like Strung Out: NoFx and Millencolin. They first recorded a demotape wich they sold and gave away for free on their shows in may of the year 1999. Soon the kids had their own fanbase and were able to play more and more shows. 2001 – first serious recordingsOne of the numerous reactions on the demo came from switzerland’s own Leech Records. In 2001 the band signed with Leech Records to record a first serious record. The EP called “fasten your seat belts†got the attention of the german and swiss punkrock scene and Skafield grew to a hard working and constantly touring band with a big fanbase. 2002 – back to local rootsLongtime friend Joe’s Fond Of Life Records was chosen to put out a special 7†on red vinyl called “interdependence dayâ€Â. Therefore Skafield entered the Death Tone Studio to record 4 new tunes wich came out on Fond Of Life Records in june 2002. Ska: Reggae but also Hardcore and Punkrock were mixed to Skafield’s own successful mixture. 2003 – it goes on smoothlyStill Straight ahead. That’s how it went for Skafield. New Year New Record. That’s why the band entered the Death Tone Studio again to record their first full lenght record in 2003. This new hard hitting Skapunk album called “smiling at the tragedy†came out on Leech Records in September 2003. Right after the release parties a big crisis struck the band when Daniel the singer left the band in a rush. Late 2004 – come back of the skapunk machineIt took the band almost one and a half years to recover from this shock but in late 2004 they came back with the loss of Daniel on mic and David on Guitar but with addition of Barry on mic and Marco on Trumpet. Until now they just started over again like nothing ever happened... so watch out for this Skapunks who played Clubs and Festivals together with bands like Reel Big Fish (USA): Beatsteaks (D): Rantanplan (D): Link80 (USA): Randy (SWE): The Turbo A.C.\
