<p>Born Sidonie Royal in Kingston and grew up in St. Catherine, Jamaica, her life aspiration was always to be an artist and entrepreneur throughout her older years in life. She migrated to the United States at the tender age of thirteen and kept her dreams alive by watching all the hottest entertainers on television and promised herself that she will take their place on stage one day. <br>

Influenced and inspired by artists such as, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, <a href="http://www.bigupradio.com/artistDetail.jsp?aid=26">Bob Marley</a>, <a href="http://www.bigupradio.com/artistDetail.jsp?aid=287">Beenie Man</a>, and <a href="http://www.bigupradio.com/artistDetail.jsp?aid=1246">J.C. Lodge</a>, Sidonie was well aware of what it will take to make her dream a reality. This young and gifted artist has all the great role models in the industry as well as her Aunt, to help shape her career. Not only is she interested in the musical field, she wants to be an aspiring actress someday. She attended The School for Film & Television in Manhattan, New York. She is also a licensed Cosmetologist and Hairstylist and is pursuing her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. </p>
<p>Always on the go to make herself a better person, Miss Royal looks at everyday situations as well as her own personal life and try to express the feelings in her music. She connected with a dear friend name “Don” from the Cayman Island, who encouraged her to write lyrics while he provides the musical pieces. The collaboration paid off when she decided to do a follow up to Beenie Man's hit single <em>“Dude”</em>. This being her first single, Sidonie decided to name the song “<em> Di Gal </em>”. It has a strong flare with thumping Reggae Beats from live instruments and can be heard live at <a href="http://www.hartfordreggae.com">www.hartfordreggae.com </a>. She is slated to do her first appearance in Connecticut at The 1st Annual New England Diversified Music Fest. She will then perform and speak to inner city youths at Bridgeport Stay in School Talent Show in Connecticut during September of 2004. It doesn't stop there, November 21, 2004 she will be the opening act for the Reggae Carifest in Miami, Florida. <br>

Sidonie's mission is just to be good at everything you do and believes that we can all achieve our goals in life if we work hard and stay focus on GOD. She plans to continue writing and performing, while focusing on her other goals in life. Being true to her craft is a must and determination will bring her over the obstacles standing in her way. This young beauty also plans to hit the big screens and write a book about her journey to success, as an inspiration to others. She will continue to stay true to herself while helping others reach the top of the mountain. Let's all sit back, relax, and enjoy the wonderful journey. <br>
