Concrete Jungle

Concrete Jungle was born in 1991 out of a jam-session, at which the love for jamaican rhythms soon evoked the desire to play regularly as a band. From the beginning there was the ideal not to play any cover-versions of famous artists (as is often the case), but to develop an own approach. Thus was born Urban Roots Reggae: groovy, sensual and melodious music that maintains the connection to Roots Music of the seventies.

In 1995 the band recorded their debut-CD "Born & Bred", a self-produced album containing fourteen tracks, filling nearly fifty minutes.

After starting off playing gigs in Darmstadt, Germany and the Rhein-Main region, the band plays across Germany today: the Schwimmbadclub in Heidelberg; Bongo Bongo Sunsplash Festival; Chiemsee-Reggae-Summer in Bavaria (alongside Burning Spear, Anthony B., Luciano, etc.) and also as supporting band to Iqulah, to name but a few.

In the meantime Concrete Jungle can be found on various Compilation-CDs, and is presently working on a second album.
For the future the band hopes to increase popularity and the number of concerts, to reach a wider audience and celebrate Reggae music.
