He-Man is a ruffneck raggamuffin DJ coming straight out of the Cockburn Pen area of Jamaica's Western Kingston ghettos.

His career started when he linked up with the producer Piper and began to work with other artists from this stable like General Degree, Reggie Stepper and Joseph Stepper.

Piper had a label deal with Paris's King Dragon crew and He-Man's debut album was released in the early 90s. "Badness and Niceness" saw him teamed up with Joseph Stepper and they shared the album between them. He-Man also voiced some intros on the King Dragon "Dub Story" dub set released around the same time.

After Piper stopped producing, the artists went their separate ways - General Degree to Danny Browne's Main Street, and Reggie Stepper and Joseph Stepper to Steely and Clevie. He-Man however decided to take a break and only released a couple of other tracks, including one on the Tribute To The Reggae Boyz set.

He-Man decided to come to England in 1999 and teamed up with The Rootsman. They began working on a number of tracks, and He-Man's specials began to be heavily featured in Rootsman's DJ set.

An EP entitled "DJ Super Clash" was released in November 1999 and saw He-Man alongside Daddy Freddy for 2 tracks each on two of Rootsman's tough dancehall riddims (including the bad boy anthem "Killer").

"Killer" has since been remixed by The Bug for the underground club hit on Razor X 7" single, and also by Al-Haca Sound System on the Different Drummer 12".
