Austin world music artist Tchiya Amet is on the rise. After making year-end "Best of 2000" lists in several different genres Amet will spend a busy summer on the West Coast festival circuit. And to top things off, one of her tracks has just been selected for the sequel to one of world music's most successful compilation albums.
Tchiya's debut album "Rise Again Truth" was released in early 2000 and garnered airplay on hundreds of radio stations. Year-end honors included #1 Texas Album of the year from Austin Chronicle music writer David Lynch as well as the annual "best-of" lists of syndicated Native American program "Earthsongs", Internet portal ireggae.com, and Beat magazine writer Chuck Foster.

Tchiya Amet is becoming a true homegrown grassroots-family success story. She met husband Mario Vela at Austin's Liberty Lunch and he has been her musical and life partner ever since. "Rise Again Truth" is on their own Milky Way Productions label and they are self-managed and booked with promotion and consulting from Taylored Marketing of Leander (RAW #620).
