The Jamaica Reggae Industry Association has announced Reggae Month 2026 under the theme “Rhythms of Resilience,” honoring Jamaica’s spirit following the devastating Hurricane Melissa. Chairman Ewan Simpson explained the theme reflects “how the rhythms of Jamaica have been the catalyst for our survival as a people.” The month-long celebration — the only one of its kind in the world — will feature Reggae Wednesdays with tributes to Dennis Brown and Jimmy Cliff, the Back to Bass-es series featuring Jamaica’s greatest bass players, and Bands Rewind reuniting classic lineups. JaRIA also plans to expand its Reggae Open University sessions to tertiary institutions across the island, promoting reggae’s cultural and economic impact.
