Reggae Cari-Fest Seventh Annual Celebration

On Sunday, August 1, 2004, all roads lead to the biggest one-day Caribbean music festival of the year in Keyspan Park (Brooklyn, New York).

Supa Chile, Beenie Man, Capleton, Yellowman , Baby Cham, TOK, among others ,” Hip Hop’s Original Hot Boyz Juvenile” .

Reggae Carifest is an eight-hour non-stop musical celebration of Caribbean, and American culture and International cuisine, which features some of the finest artists and musicians known worldwide. Reggae Carifest was launched six summers ago, in 1998, at the Forest Hills Stadium in Queens with the awesome sounds of Lucky Dube , Steel Pulse, Shaggy, Beres Hammond , Buju Banton, and Maxi Priest to name a few. That first show, ?Spirit of Unity? tour, was sold-out weeks before the event! After two years at that venue, the action moved to Downing Stadium, Reggae Carifest has remained ?sold out? and has become a highly anticipated summer event. .

Who is behind the success of this annual production? The Reggae Carifest team includes a culturally diverse group of individuals? Junior E. Burton, Ceo/ Of The famous Club Temptation / Legendary Records Michael Samuel, and Phillip-Neri Benn–whose aim, according to Benn is ?to make Reggae Carifest inclusive of all genres of music, bringing people of all nations of the Caribbean, African Americans and, generally; a diverse audience together.?

When asked to describe Reggae Carifest, Junior Ewart Burton says: ?Its all about Caribbean music, with a mixture of American music. Our goal is to feature Artists from all over the world. If you love live music and excellent stage performances by hot Caribbean, and American artists and musicians, then this is the show for you.

?The objective for promoting Reggae Cari-Fest each year is to provide Caribbean nationals with quality entertainment and to expose other ethnic groups to reggae at its best.?
