The one and only Marcia Griffiths celebrates 4 decades of hard work and dedication on her upcoming VP Record’s double disc anthology album, Melody Life, due out April 24th. Making timeless music since 1964, Marcia Griffiths is a reggae legend in her own right. Before her solo career, she was the former member of the Bob Marley and the Wailers background group, the I-Threes, and spent a few years singing with Bob Andy, one of reggae’s most influential songwriters and singers, as Bob and Marcia.
Her new timeless collection Melody Life includes a never released duet with Bob Marley on “Oh My Darling,” her famous 80s electro-funk dance hit “Electric Boogie, ”that triggered the massive craze of the Electric Slide line dance, the iconic anthem “Young, Gifted & Black,” plus many more of Marcia’s most cherished tunes. Collaborations include Bounty Killer, Bob Marley, Beres Hammond, amongst others.
After recently completing her successful U.S. tour with the legendary Beres Hammond, Marcia makes plans to be in NYC from April 19- April 25 to promote her new album Melody Life. She also has a special performance at the Reggae Cabaret concert on Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Hammerstein Ballroom.
