Throughout 1998, there were signs that the Black Mind umbrella should concentrate on the Roots and Culture, and Lovers Rock spectrum of the reggae music which seems to get lost in the shuffle. <P> With our reggae music appealing to fans of Hip-hop, Rock, R&B, and other listeners, it has become obvious how seemingly musical forms can attract new groups of listeners. With this in mind, Black Mind Records wanted to present an assemblage of reggae artists whose work is not nearly as appreciated as it should. The media inundated with reggae music from not only major labels and major indies, but private artists, the task of sorting reggae music has become overwhelming. The problem is that it misleads unknowing listeners and radio programmers into thinking some reggae artists represents a style of music which may be far from what they actually hear or play. But there are still plenty of people listening as evidenced by radio response. Black Mind Recording Artists Ragga Lox(Formally Ragga L.E.X.), Richie Roots, Manna Panna, Gumbae Culture,Empress Michel, Prince Pankhi, Majesty Son, Bobo Vizion, and Pretty Rich, are becoming known for their atmospheric mix which goes convention of traditional mix because of their dance-floor beat that has a flavorful ambient which nicely balance dance grove with listener friendly lyrics.
