<p>Culture DJ Wayne Lyrics was born in 1970 in St. Ann's, Jamaica and grew up in Spanish Town. He began by DJing in school concerts and small local sound systems but his career really started after he moved to Ocho Rios in 1987. </p>
<p>Wayne voiced his first tune <em>"Don't Dis The Programme"</em> for Irie FM DJ Gary G's Sea Breeze label in 1989. Then Barry O'Hare's X-Rated label released two of his songs <em>"Shot a Lick"</em> and <em>"Pray To God"</em> (with King Lorenzo) which were small dancehall hits. The latter was later released in Holland by Runn Records on the compilation "<em>X-Rated Gang Volume One"</em>. </p>
<p>Other Jamaican releases from Wayne Lyrics include <em>"Run Away Satan"</em> and <em>"Too Much Dog Heart"</em> for <a href="http://www.bigupradio.com/labelDetail.jsp?lid=1406">Reggae Master</a>; <em>"Mr. Plumber</em>" for <a href="http://www.bigupradio.com/labelDetail.jsp?lid=190">Kings Of Kings</a>; and "<em>What's Going On In Here"</em>, <em>"Seek and You Shall Find"</em> and <em>"The Basketball Dance"</em>, all for the <a href="http://www.bigupradio.com/labelDetail.jsp?lid=273">Big Jeans</a> label. This last track was Wayne's biggest hit and led to him recording a video for it. </p>
<p>In 1998 Wayne moved to England and began recording with many of our home-grown producers, and in 2000 his debut album <em>"Poor People a Bawl"</em> by released by Roadblocc Records. He has released various 45s such as <em>"Bad Boy a Street"</em> and <em>"Tell Me"</em> (with Pepsi Kool) for Yush; <em>"Bedroom Bully" </em>for Stock Ade; and <em>"Love Conquers All"</em> (with <a href="http://www.bigupradio.com/artistDetail.jsp?aid=334">Anthony B</a> and G. Vibes) for Golden Eye. </p>
<p>Wayne had voiced specials for sound systems like Killamanjaro, <a href="http://www.bigupradio.com/labelDetail.jsp?lid=102">Stone Love</a>, Bass Odyssey, Black Kat and many many more. He voiced his first specials for <a href="http://www.bigupradio.com/artistDetail.jsp?aid=236">Rootsman</a> in 2000 and these received an explosive response throughout Europe. Wayne then visited the <a href="http://www.bigupradio.com/labelDetail.jsp?lid=56">Third Eye Studio</a> in 2001 to record two crucial roots tunes <em>"The Law"</em> and <em>"Blaze The Fire"</em>, both produced by Rootsman. </p>
